The Spring/Summer 2013 Alexander McQueen showcase was a buzz. Quite literally. Sarah Burton showed stern intent with the bee inspired collection. A McQueen signature. Honeycomb embroidery, bee covered neck chokers and golden sunset honey-colored palette are all oxymoronically built in the clothes. Anyone allergic to bees should definitely benefit from a McQueen experience treatment. A fashion cure, if you may. Fantasizing a woman's hour-glass figure and the synonymity of a queen bee, there's an exaggeration of proportions in the collection. Even the reinterpretation of a modernist beekeeper's veil seem quitely dramatic. Questions of real world wearability comes with such intricate couture pieces. The answer is in styling. Stretching the norms of menswear is the approach taken by South Korean designer Byungmun Seo for his Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Who wouldn't want to rock gas masks? Rhetoricals aside, Seo previews a provocative array of classics with edgy twists. In a way, highlighting the poisonous polluted emissions we humans ignorantly produce every second.
